Questions without enough context
Readers need to understand what was asked, who participated and how findings were produced before interpreting a result.
Public Opinion & Research
PollGrid
In DevelopmentPublic Opinion, Survey & Polling Platform
General-interest polls and surveys, designed to help people and organisations gather opinion and understand results in context.
The proposition
PollGrid is a Grid Platforms Limited product currently in active development. It is a general-interest public-opinion, survey and polling platform designed to help people and organisations create, participate in, understand and follow structured polls. Its direction spans community questions, consumer interests, institutional feedback, media topics and research. Election-related and civic-interest polls are one possible category, not the whole platform. Poll creation and response collection are not yet publicly available.
The operational challenge
Recurring work deserves more than scattered records and a chain of follow-up messages.
Readers need to understand what was asked, who participated and how findings were produced before interpreting a result.
A large number of responses does not establish that a poll represents a country or everyone affected by an issue.
Capability themes
These themes describe the intended product scope. They are not a list of universally available features.
A development direction for finding questions across public-interest, consumer, community and research topics.
Planned creation and participation workflows built around understandable questions and answer options.
A product direction spanning open opinion, invited participation and organisation-led studies, with clear audience context.
Planned result presentation alongside the question, publisher, dates, methodology and sampling limitations.
A development approach that considers review, sponsor disclosure, corrections and appropriate publication of findings.
Web and mobile foundations are being developed; this is not an announcement of public participation or app-store availability.
Across subjects and interests
Responsible polling principles
Questions, publishers, sponsors, dates and sampling limitations should travel with published results.
Privacy-aware participation and proportionate moderation are development principles, with safeguards reviewed before collection begins.
Platform polls are not official election results. Open, self-selected polls describe their respondents and must not be presented as representative national opinion or scientific national polling.
Methodology, review and corrections should support responsible publication. Claims of representativeness require evidence from the specific study design.
